Privacy Policy
MoodJury is a collaborative playlist app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle your information.
What we collect
- Account information: name, email, and profile picture from Google when you sign in
- Room activity: song submissions, votes (skip/keep), and session participation
- Saved songs: songs you choose to save to your personal library
- Technical information: IP address, browser/device type, session identifiers
How we use it
- Operate the service: manage rooms, sessions, and song queues
- Maintain your session so you stay signed in across visits
- Pre-fill your name when joining rooms
- Track voting patterns to improve recommendations over time
- Prevent spam and abuse
Google sign-in
We use Google OAuth to sign you in. We request access to your basic profile information (name, email, profile picture) only. We do not access your Google Drive, Gmail, YouTube account, or any other Google service. Your email is used for account identification and is never displayed to other users. We do not store your Google password.
Third-party services
- YouTube: we embed YouTube videos for music playback. YouTube's own privacy policy applies to embedded content.
- Google: sign-in via Google OAuth as described above
- MusicBrainz: we use public music metadata for song search. No personal data is shared with MusicBrainz.
Cookies and session data
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. This cookie is essential for the service to function. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.
Data retention
Account and activity data is kept for as long as your account exists. Session cookies expire after 180 days of inactivity. Technical logs (including IP addresses) are retained for a limited period for abuse prevention.
Your rights
We do not sell your personal information. You can sign out at any time. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the email below.
